About the Certification Program
Individual courses are open to all students whether or not they are working toward certification, however, Tea 101 is a pre-requisite to all courses. The remaining courses may be taken in any order.
- Courses can be taken out of general interest or you may continue on to become a TAC Certified Tea Sommelier.
- Tea 101 must be taken first and then levels 102-108 can be taken in an order.
- You may register and attend up to two classes simultaneously, with the exception of Tea 101.
- Classes feature a combination of lecture material and tasting. All course materials will be handed out on your first day of class.
Note: Please refrain from wearing any scented products in the classroom. This includes perfume, cologne, scented hand creams and lip balms.
For full certification you must complete courses Tea 101 to Tea 108 as well as the Certification Exam. Time to certification is flexible; it depends on how many courses you take and when your final certification exam is scheduled. It takes most students about 1 to 1.5 years to complete their certification. Students may use credits from other institutions that offer this program toward their final TAC Tea Sommelier Certification.

They are not Niagara College credit courses and are not eligible for credit transfer. Cost of courses and course dates reflect the current term, and are subject to change without notice. Courses are not scheduled on holidays.
